Starting out with special educational needs

 

These sessions are aimed at Early Career teachers (NQT/RQT), but may also be of interest to experienced teachers who want to refresh their understanding and pick up some new tips and strategies. The practical workshop-style sessions will provide an introduction to recent theory and research in each area, together with ideas for practical strategies tried and tested in the classroom.

CT2   An introduction to Autism                                                                

This interactive session will provide a practical introduction to working with children and young people with Autism, including strategies to take away and use in the classroom. 

Suitable for Early Career teachers and teaching assistants, or for experienced teachers who would like to "brush up" their skills.

Facilitated by: Dr Caroline Bond, Partner Educational Psychologist.

Caroline has practice and research interests in working with children with Autism, including experience as a former member of the Social Communication Assessment and Intervention Team (SCAIT) at the Winnicott Centre. Caroline is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and currently Associate Course Director of the the Doctorate in Educational and Child Psychology
