Opportunities with Catalyst Psychology

Work experience

We have an established work experience link with Edge Hill University. Each year we are pleased to be able to offer work experience placement(s) to second year undergraduates on the Educational Psychology degree course.

We are not able to offer shadowing placements or unpaid internships, as we focus our resources on the provision of employed assistant psychologists. We receive many requests for shadowing opportunities. Although we do try to respond to all requests with an explanation of our position on shadowing, it is not always possible to respond to every enquiry.

Assistant Psychologists

We employ assistant psychologists to support our delivery of services to schools and other commissioners. We currently employ 2 Assistant Psychologists. You can read about our Assistants on our team page here.

Trainee Educational Psychologists

We are committed to supporting the training of educational psychologists. We have close links with the training course at Manchester University. Catalyst Psychology is pleased to be hosting a Context Placement for Trainee Educational Psychologists in Year 1 of their training course.

Educational Psychologists

We are a core team of 5 Educational Psychologists, working in conjunction with 8 Partner Psychologists. Our Strategic Director, Maria Heffernan, is also an experienced Educational Psychologist.

As an organisation we are therefore uniquely placed to offer a quality educational psychology service from the perspective of a social enterprise. 

Partner Psychologists

We work with 8 Partner Psychologists, each of whom brings an area of additional specialism to the work of our service. Our Partner Psychologists are self-employed. They work with us on a negotiated basis, with work tailored to suit their availability and special interests.You can read about our Partner Psychologists on our team page here.
