The Belonging Matters Recorded Training was developed as a practical “what works” resource following the Belonging Matters Ambassador Training programme. This programme formed part of the wider Catalyst Connects: Belonging Matters project supporting the inclusion of International New Arrival pupils (including refugees, asylum seekers and migrants) in schools. As a government funded project this training is freely available for all to access and use. It builds on the insights and experiences of educators who participated in the Ambassador Training, highlighting key areas where inclusive practice can be strengthened.
The training consists of six recorded sessions, each lasting between 20–30 minutes, and is designed to offer flexible, accessible professional development. Each session is accompanied by supporting materials for school staff. The sessions are grouped into four core themes:
- Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Supporting children and young people learning English as an Additional Language
- Multilingualism and Developmental Language Disorder
- Wellbeing, mental health and trauma support
