Jade is a Year 3 Trainee Educational Psychologist currently undertaking her doctorate at the University of Manchester, recently joining the Catalyst team. Prior to her doctoral training, Jade gained extensive experience working with children and young people in various educational settings. She began her career as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in a specialist provision while completing her master’s degree in child development. Following this, she worked as an Assistant Psychologist for two years, supporting children in both mainstream primary and secondary schools.
During her time as an Assistant Psychologist, Jade collaborated closely with Educational and Clinical Psychologists, further developing her understanding of multi-disciplinary approaches to supporting children and young people's needs. Throughout her doctoral training, Jade has undertaken a range of placement experiences across the Northwest, working with children, families, and schools to promote positive outcomes.
Jade is particularly passionate about strength-based and relational approaches to problem-solving, ensuring the child remains at the heart of her practice. Her current research project focuses on evaluating psychoeducation interventions designed to support the mental health and well-being of children and young people. She is particularly interested in preventative approaches to mental health, recognising the increasing prevalence of difficulties among children and the need for accessible, early intervention amidst growing service demand.
