Jennifer Winstanley

Jenny gained a BSc (Hons) in Psychology in 2010, before going on to train as a Primary School teacher. Over the course of her teaching career, she gained a particular interest in Early Years education and worked at a senior level as Head of EYFS in multiple settings. Jenny is passionate about early childhood development and the application of psychology in education, so in 2023 she left classroom teaching to pursue a career in child and educational psychology. She is currently studying for an MEd Psychology in Education at the University of Manchester and her dissertation explores how the term ‘school readiness’ is conceptualised by parents, teachers, and teaching assistants. Jenny is also a qualified Forest School Leader and yoga teacher and has enjoyed seeing the positive benefits of these activities for children’s social and emotional wellbeing.
