This is a Wave 2 intervention for delivery with a small group. However, the same programme can be focused around an individual child with more significant needs as part of a programme of support at Wave 3.

Suitable for: a group of 4 - 6 children who need support to develop their fine and gross motor skills
Cost: Pay as you go: £375 per programme or 1 day equivalent from your contracted time
Start dates: any day in the weeks commencing 18th May, 1st June, 8th June, 15th June

Following this intervention you will have a better understanding about how to support the development of motor skills for pupils with additional needs, with a broader range of strategies at your fingertips.
Description:
This is a 5-session programme based around developing confidence in classroom practice and supporting access for children and young people who struggle with motor skills.
The programme focuses on the following areas for development: functionally relevant motor skills tasks; access to the curriculum; improving self-esteem through achievement; improving social skills through group work; developing motor planning skills as an aid to effective problem-solving.
The programme includes postcards for parents with ideas for supporting the programme at home.
