Assistant Headteacher and SEN Adviser, Isle of Man

The Isle of Man has been home to Julie and her family for the past 16 years, having moved there from Southport to experience a different lifestyle and teaching opportunities. She has worked in the field of SEN as a teacher, SENCO, and adviser to the Island’s SEN team within the Department of Education and Children, and is currently an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for inclusion at Ramsey Grammar School. She leads on multi-agency initiatives across the Island to bring together young learners and promote wide-ranging inclusive practice, and has recently shared this as a model through work with university teacher training programmes.
